It is always in our thoughts to manufacture excellent eyeglasses.” In 1905 the company founder Goazaemon Masunaga invited the best craftsmen from Osaka and Tokyo to live in Fukui, one of the largest production regions for optical frames in the world, with the ambition of setting an optical frame industry in that region.
Masunaga nowadays is the only company in japan that has a factory in charge of all 200 manual process involved in making an optical frame; highest quality acetate, titanium components, and timeless design are the distinguishing features of each model. Ever since 1905, the company has kept to the same standards of research and production so that Masunaga optical frames consistently express the clean style of Japanese cultural traditions.
